The Personal Journey 365, sweet surrender
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Ephesians 6:12, NIV The war, in which we are fighting, whether we believe or acknowledge it, is not with the flesh and blood of this world. As long as we continue to fight with each other our attention is diverted and will remain unclear as to the real enemy of mankind. This is an epic conflict that our limited understanding will never fully grasp while in this world. To attempt to bring it into our own finite mentality is not only arrogant, but impossible. Most importantly, to do battle through our significantly inadequate weapons is tantamount to spiritual suicide. The victory comes from the upside-down strategy of surrender. The surrender is not to the battle itself, nor to the short-lived tempting desires of the flesh, but to the sweet surrender to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the Way! He is the Truth!
