The Personal Journey 365, a miracle in your mouth
Then my tongue shall tell of your righteousness and of your praise all the day long. Psalm 35:28 (NKJV)
To come to the understanding that we have the power of life and death in our mouth is revelation that can only come from the Spirit of God. This means, if not surrendered to God, can cause a ripple effect of destruction in epic portions. Yet gloriously, if surrender to Jesus Christ, through the power of the Holy Spirit the mouth can accomplish the miraculous. It is in the mouth that we confess Jesus is Lord and are saved. It is from the mouth that we receive the Holy Spirit. It is the mouth by praise and worship that the Glory of God descends upon us and makes the impossible possible.
At the beginning God spoke creation into existence and at the end Jesus Christ defeats the Enemy with the double edged sword from his mouth. So it is with our mouth that in praise and worship we find the most intimate part of our journey with God. God breathes in our worship and exhales His glory. In other words, to praise and worship God with our mouth brings us into the realm of God’s glory at which we can respond by receiving miracles.
For one of the most powerful examples of achieving the impossible simply through praise and worship look at 2 Chronicles 20 in the Bible. King Jehoshaphat and the Israelites were looking at total annihilation from the surrounding armies outnumbering them and coming from all sides. Victory was impossible in the natural, but God gave King Jehoshaphat a battle strategy of heavenly origin and that was praise and worship. This battle stance of praise and worship gave God the battle and the glory. It brought about confusion in the surrounding armies that caused them to fight each other thus bringing total victory for the Israelites.
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4 (NKJV)
When we are focused on ourselves and our circumstances we remain in the natural to do battle on our own. The answer is so close but because of our inability to truly surrender to Jesus Christ, we miss out on the best from God. This is the very reason we need the Holy Spirit to guide us and give us the ability to surrender. Children understand this simple concept of surrender, but the older we get more jaded we become to this world of the “seen.” It is in the unseen, the eternal things of God that the answers are found, something children innately understand.
If we truly come to God in praise and worship with our whole heart, give him every fiber of our being, with no thought to things of this world and no thought of you on your mind then we break the flesh barrier enter into His eternal realm for which time stands still and matter does not matter. It is in this place that we lose sight of ourselves basking in God’s rest and heaven invades earth, then in this place of true surrender and focus on Him the miraculous takes place.
